While New York City’s protest seems to be growing smaller as the temperature drops and snow falls, the Occupy protest in Nashville is gaining strength. The arrests of 29 protesters at Occupy Nashville seem to have gotten the group more supporters as lawyers prepare to file lawsuits on their behalf. The 29 were arrested early Friday morning after they refused to leave the Legislative Plaza, where the protests have been taking place. One Nashville defense attorney said, “I was sort of indifferent to the movement, one way or the other, quite frankly. Now what has happened is the government itself has politicized its behavior, and I think people will be mad at the government.” The arrests of 51 protesters in San Diego appear to have had a similar effect.
