The number of people in Vice President Mike Pence’s inner circle who have tested positive for COVID-19 is up to five, but he is not quarantining. Pence’s office said the veep—who reportedly tested negative on Saturday—plans to “maintain his schedule” and continue traveling in the final days before the election. According to The New York Times, those infected include Pence’s chief of staff, Marc Short; close adviser Marty Obst; and three other members of his staff. The Times, citing two sources familiar with the matter, also reported that White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows had tried to keep news of the latest infections from going public.
