Thousands Flee Bangkok

Tens of thousands of people are fleeing Bangkok ahead of rising floodwaters. Bangkok's governor has officially called for residents of the three northern districts in the capital to leave, and authorities have declared a five-day holiday to allow people to relocate. "This is the first time I am using the term 'evacuation', the first time I'm really asking you to leave," said the governor. With the capital's regional airport already closed due to flooding, thousands of people flocked to bus and train stations. There are reports of stores rationing food in order to prevent hoarding, and bottled water is running low.
