President Trump on Wednesday accused Russia of violating international sanctions by helping North Korea acquire supplies, according to a new interview with Reuters. “Russia is not helping us at all with North Korea,” Trump told the news agency. “What China is helping us with, Russia is denting. In other words, Russia is making up for some of what China is doing.” Trump also questioned the effectiveness of sitting down with the reclusive nation’s leader, Kim Jong Un, as part of a peace process. “I’m not sure that talks will lead to anything meaningful. They’ve talked for 25 years and they’ve taken advantage of our presidents, of our previous presidents,” Trump said, adding that the regime gets “closer every day” to developing a missile that could reach the United States.
