Attacks Spread to Aleppo

Almost 30 people were killed and more than 200 were wounded Friday in Aleppo, the largest city in Syria, after two explosions rocked a police station and a military-intelligence building. It wasn’t immediately clear who was responsible for the attack, as both the Assad regime and opposition forces quickly blamed each other. Meanwhile, fighting continued in Homs, which government forces have been shelling for close to a week now. New estimates place the death toll above 400, though the number can’t be verified because Syria has prohibited journalists from covering the conflict.
