De Blasio Reverses Course, Re-Opens New York City Elementary Schools

New York City will reopen elementary schools, mayor Bill de Blasio announced Sunday, reversing an earlier decision to take the school system entirely online. High schools and middle schools will remain closed for in-person learning, de Blasio said. The city first opened schools two months ago, before closing them Nov. 19 as cases spiked. Kids can return to school starting on Dec. 7, de Blasio announced.
