The Senate has delayed a 1 a.m. vote to fund the government through Feb. 8 until noon Monday, extending the shutdown past the weekend. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) pledged that legislation would be brought to the Senate floor on DACA, border security, and related issues if no deal was struck before Feb. 8. “The shutdown should stop today,” McConnell said on the floor. Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), hearing McConnell’s reassurances, backed the continuing resolution on the floor as well. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said, though, that “we have yet to reach an agreement.”
