JetBlue Hero

Steven Slater to Plead Guilty, No Jail Time

Steven Slater, the man who quit his JetBlue flight attendant job in a spectacular profanity-laced tirade that made him a hero to the nation’s unappreciated drones, will plead guilty today in a deal that will keep him out of jail. Slater will admit to a felony, but if he successfully completes a mental-health counseling program, the charge will be dropped. In August, a ridiculously rude passenger was Slater’s last straw, and as the plane pulled up to the gate at JFK, he quit over the PA system, popped the emergency slide, and slid away with two beers in hand.
